Top 20 Mid-Cap Stocks Right Now, Ranked by Marvin Scores
Marvin's rules picked 20 mid-sized companies with the highest Overall scores, with no more than three per sector. Dave, Dorian LPG, Provident Financial, Victory Capital and WesBanco lead the list.
Mid-cap stocks are companies in the middle of the market. They are larger than small start-ups but smaller than the giants. This list covers 20 of them across many sectors, from banks and real estate to biotech, industrial machinery and consumer brands.
The order comes from Marvin's Overall score, which compares each company with others in its own industry. A high score means a company looks strong next to its industry peers. It does not mean the company beats the whole market, and it says nothing about future results.
Look at the figures in each blurb, such as growth, margins and debt. Some companies have missing figures, and some look odd. Banks, property companies and biotech firms are measured differently from one another, so read each blurb for its caution as well as its strengths.
The list
How Marvin ranked these stocks
Marvin started with companies above about three hundred million dollars in size, then kept those of roughly two to ten billion dollars. They are ranked by Marvin scores, from 0 to 100, which are relative to each company's own industry, with the highest Overall score first and at most three stocks per sector. A score of 97 in banking and a score of 97 in biotech each mean the company stands out among its own industry peers, not that the two businesses are alike.
Companies above about $300 million in size, ranked by Marvin scores (0-100, relative to each company's own industry). Companies of about $2-10 billion in size, highest Overall first; at most 3 per sector.

Common questions
What is a mid-cap stock?
A mid-cap stock belongs to a company of middle size, here roughly two to ten billion dollars. These companies are usually bigger and more established than small caps but smaller than the largest companies. Their share prices can still move a lot.
Do high Marvin scores mean a stock will do well?
No. Marvin's scores describe how a company compares with other companies in its industry today. They are not forecasts and not advice to buy or sell.
Why do some stocks on this list have missing figures?
Not every measure is available or meaningful for every company. Banks, property companies and biotech firms report their finances differently, so a blurb only uses the figures that are available for that stock. Where a figure is missing, treat that part of the picture as unknown.
